AUDITIONS FOR THE CASTLEWOOD SINGERS
Castlewood Singers is an all-volunteer choral ensemble of 40+ individuals who serve as musical ambassadors in and around Central Indiana. All candidates must be 18 years or older and be available for rehearsals every Tuesday evening at the International School of Indiana, 4330 Michigan Rd, Indianapolis. We perform three to four concerts per year in the central Indiana area. Every five years, we travel outside of Indiana or even the United States.
Prospective members are first invited to sit in on two or three rehearsals to watch and listen. They are given 3-4 pieces of music to review, not memorize, and will be asked to sing these with our group. Our Director will be looking for blend and pitch. Prospective members will also perform vocal ranges for our Director. The ability to sight read musical scores is not a prerequisite but is extremely helpful. Most music is memorized for our performances.
All singers are required to purchase three or four outfits for our performances under the direction of the Attire Committee. The Committee always considers cost when choosing attire for our performances.
If you are interested in auditioning, please email our Audition Coordinator, Craig Livers, at auditions@castlewoodsingers.org or call him at 317-203-0389 with your contact information.
